Fun With Wesley

I spent some time with Wesley and his family last week. He's been pretending for quite a long time. His parents really play with him and it's quite a lot of fun. David was getting Wesley dressed to go to preschool, and all he needed was to put on his shoes and socks. Wesley pretended he was stuck in one spot in the living room. David asked "But what if the tickle monster was coming your way?" That resulted in a chase around the house. Then Wesley again took his spot and announced he was sticking there. Along came a train and off they raced again. Finally while getting his shoes and socks, Wesley asked to go to school in a box. That didn't happen, but Wesley pretended he wasn't with us in the car on the way home from school. His mom and I missed him very much and talked about that all the way home. I suggested he might have mailed himself home and we'd find him at home. Wesley enjoys Woody Guthrie's "Mail Myself to You" Sure enough we did!
